A Chinese company based in Beijing, Transit Explore Bus, recently presented its newest design, a bus that can… drive itself over the other cars. This “Straddling bus” can transfer up to 1400 passengers, gathering up speed of 60 km per hour.
This idea may not appear to be the safest ever, as a bus without a driver is doens’t inspire great confidence. However, this part bus-part tunnel invention is already being eyed on by many chinese towns, as it can serve to solve problems both of traffic (as the bus will move over and not with regular cars) and of public transport, due to its extreme capacities.
It makes up the size of roughly 40 normal buses, and will work on electricity in order to offer relief to the Chinese skies and environment. Its construction is easier and less costly than a subway system and also… it looks cool! Could this be a small revolution in the field of transportations?
