The clitoris has been a mystery for a long time for many baffled souls. Here is a quick guide to the only organ in the human body which has only one function- to give pleasure.
People often think to be just a small part of human anatomy. The little button like part which is visible to us is only the gland; inside it stretches for 10 centimeters on both the sides. The clitoris is like the penis in many aspects. Just like a male penis, the clitoris also grows in size when there is a surge of blood to it. It is also highly sensitive like a penis, in fact much more ticklish than the penis.
The first time it was officially discovered and named was in 1559, although it was known even at the time of the Grecian civilization. In ancient times, it was encouraged to have orgasms through the clitoris because it was said to enhance fertility. For centuries women were encouraged to release sexual tension through clitoral orgasms.
Sadly from the 19th century onwards, several misconceptions about the clitoris and clitoral orgasm were perpetuated, especially by doctors. It was associated with diseases like Hysteria, most notably by Sigmund Freud. He said that women are only supposed to experienced orgasm by vaginal penetration.
This has led to many misunderstandings about this organ which continue to exist even to this day. Even when you give the proper attention it deserves, it is only considered a part of foreplay. There needs to be a lot of awareness of this exquisite part and the best time to start is now.
