    1. “Sadness” is not “depression”, one should gain a clue about that which they speak before putting pen to paper

    2. It is my “right” to conceal my depression…I typically do this because of the clueless condescending people like the writer of this post that “think” they know of that which they speak…Leave me the f*ck alone

      As someone who has severe depression This for me is spot on, its not you so that is fine, we are not all the same. Even when I am going under I still try to act normal still help everyone but me, still care for everyone but me .If I were to jump off a building I would clean people’s windows on the way down.. This article is typical of me and my whole life 58 years, I pretend even to myself I am fine.. then suddenly I cannot pretend any more and lock myself away. The last huge bout I didn’t go outside my door for over three years.

    Yes to most of this!! Except the drinking and drugs. I know I have an addictive personality, so I avoid drugs and alcohol. The rest of the points are all spot-on.

    It is a great checklist to discuss with my therapist.
